Zoom, Google Meet and Teams list 1080p as their top meeting video setting, so the extra pixels of the Anker PowerConf C200 2K Webcam don’t reach calls in those apps. It’s for people who want three things in one small camera: a cover that switches the camera off, three framing widths and two microphone pickup modes. You set most of that in the AnkerWork software, so install it along with the Anker PowerConf C200.
| Product | Best mode | Privacy cover | Mic pickup | Software |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Logitech C920x HD Pro 1080p Webcam | 1080p at 30 fps | None | Dual mics | 3-month XSplit VCam license for backgrounds |
| Anker PowerConf C200 2K Webcam | 2K at 30 fps | Built in, turns the camera off | Dual stereo, 90° or 180° | AnkerWork, for view, pickup, image and firmware |
| EMEET S600 4K Webcam | 4K at 30 fps, or 1080p at 60 fps | Built in | Dual noise-cancelling mics | EMEETLINK, optional, for image and noise settings |
Since those apps stop at 1080p, the cover, the mics and the software decide it. Framing differs too. The C920x has a 78° view, while the S600 (EMEET’s SmartCam S600) narrows from 73° to 40° only at 1080p. So the C920x is the plain 1080p pick, with no cover at all. Get the S600 instead if you’ll record or stream in 4K, or want 60 fps.
What the Anker PowerConf C200 webcam is and how it mounts
It’s a USB webcam with a 5MP sensor that records in 2K at 30 frames per second, the only frame rate it offers. In pixels, that 2K is 2,560 × 1,440, a figure Anker gives on its Japanese spec page but not on its US one. The clip unfolds over the top of a monitor or laptop screen, and pressing it against the back of the screen gives a secure fit. Fold the clip in, and its ¼-inch thread takes a tripod, which you buy separately. So it can sit on a laptop, a monitor or a tripod beside your screen.

Will the picture hold up in a dim or bright room?
Anker promises a bright picture from the PowerConf C200 in a dim room, but it warns against sitting with a bright window behind you. The F2.0 lens lets in more light, and Anker says you’ll still look bright “even without a ring light in low-light settings.” Anker’s UK page adds that it focuses on you in “just 0.5 seconds.” AnkerWork can switch on auto white balance for the Anker C200 webcam, but it has no manual white balance. There’s no HDR, though. Anker’s Get Started guide is blunt about it: “we do not suggest using this in a backlit situation.” So put the window behind the camera, not behind you. Face still washed out? Lower the brightness and contrast in AnkerWork.
Matching the view to the microphones
Pick the narrow settings when you’re alone and the wide ones when someone sits beside you. AnkerWork switches the view between 65°, 78° and 95°, which Anker pitches as a way to show “just your face” or what’s behind you. On the Anker C200, two microphones pick up voices from up to 3 m, with automatic gain control and noise cancellation. Their pickup has two modes, directional at 90° and omni-directional at 180°, and sound outside the chosen angle is suppressed. In directional mode, face the camera straight on and avoid moving around, because moving can take your voice outside the 90° zone.
- Alone at a desk: 65° or 78°, with 90° pickup.
- Two of you side by side: 95°, with 180° pickup.
- Still too wide at 65°: zoom in by hand in AnkerWork.
What the privacy cover blocks, and what it doesn’t
Slide the cover over the lens and the camera switches itself off. But the microphones keep working behind it, so mute yourself in the call app as well. A white light shows whenever an app is using the camera. That’s your cue that it’s live.
The Anker PowerConf C200 software: what AnkerWork adds
AnkerWork comes in Windows and Mac versions, and the Mac one has separate builds for Intel and Apple chips. Beyond the view, pickup and zoom settings above, it sets brightness, sharpness, saturation and contrast. It also installs firmware updates, except on Windows 7 and 8. What the AnkerWork software can’t do yet is add a virtual background or record video, so you’ll need your call app or another program for those. The camera also supports only one video stream at a time, so close AnkerWork before you open Zoom, Teams or any other app for a call.
Will the Anker C200 work with your setup?
It will if you pass five checks.
- Your port. The cable runs from the webcam’s USB-C port to a USB-A plug, so a laptop with only USB-C ports needs an adapter.
- Your operating system. The camera works with Windows 7 or later. On a Mac, Anker’s pages disagree on the camera’s own minimum. The software for the Anker PowerConf C200 needs macOS 10.14 or later, though, so treat that as your floor.
- Your call app. Zoom sends 1080p only on an eligible plan, once Zoom Support turns it on, and only with virtual backgrounds off and at least an i7 quad-core CPU. Teams sends up to 1080p at 30 fps when bandwidth allows, while Google Meet sends 1080p only from eligible plans and not from Firefox or Safari. Anker’s own FAQ still gives lower figures, 720p for Zoom and 360p for Teams. Our 1080p vs 4K webcam guide sets out each app’s conditions. For streaming, the Anker PowerConf C200 works with OBS and XSplit software and with Twitch.
- What’s missing. There’s no Bluetooth, and no automatic framing either, since the C200 is “not AI-Frame enabled,” in Anker’s words.
- Face sign-in. It doesn’t support Windows Hello, so it can’t sign you in to Windows with your face.
Who should skip the PowerConf C200
- You only want sharper calls. The call apps’ top setting is 1080p, so the extra resolution goes unused.
- You can’t move away from a bright window behind you, because there’s no HDR.
- You need 60 fps, automatic framing or face sign-in.
Anker C200 questions
Can you use two Anker PowerConf C200 webcams on one computer?
Yes. You can connect more than one Anker PowerConf C200 webcam to a computer at the same time. Each needs its own USB-A port, or an adapter, because each plugs in with its own cable. Just don’t open the same camera in two apps at once, since each one sends a single stream.
Does the PowerConf C200 work without AnkerWork?
Yes. The PowerConf C200 is plug and play, so your computer recognizes it as soon as you plug it in. AnkerWork is where you switch its view and pickup angle and update its firmware, though, so most buyers will want it. Anker says “You are highly recommended to download the software.”
